Rich Conversations: 100 Years of History

As a Centennial activity, Affiliates are encouraged to establish a core group of Family and Consumer Sciencs professionals in each county including those who are retired and also non-members.  This core group would discuss (Rich Conversations) the available opportunities in their county to celebrate and publicize the Centennial Celebration.  Activities could be internal and involve any FCS person in the county. Activities could also be planned for external audiences such as School Boards,  City Councils, County Commissioners, FCCLA parents, PTA, civic club presentations, county fairs, libraries, secondary classrooms or college and university campuses.   It would beneficial for each Affiliate to determine a month to celebrate and every county focus on having events during that month.  If it would assist, the AAFCS Centennial Committes could select the month. The  Affiliate Wall of Fame History display boards would be excellent to use with the “Rich Conversations” theme to HONOR our past,  INSPIRE and CELEBRATE our present and to SECURE the future of our profession.  Members and constituent audiences would be encouraged to meet and discuss how the profession has enriched the lives of families, individuals and communities for the past 100 years. Media coverage wherever possible would be beneficial.          Visit aafcs.org for More Ideas
