DINE IN on December 3

Once again it is nearing time to celebrate Ellen’s birthday.  The American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences is sponsoring the Dine In campaign in her honor.  Last year, 100,000 people signed on to commit to Dining In on December 3.  This year we hope for 200,000.

Dining In is a healthier way to eat for families and not just for the food aspect.  Healthy conversations can result, too.  Research has proven that children who eat meals with their families at home perform better in school, have fewer drug and alcohol incidents and far less incidence of childhood obesity.

What is there not to like!!!

“Keep children involved in the conversation.  It’s OK for parents to talk to each other, but don’t turn the family dinner into adult conversation time.  Consider having adult time after the meal over coffee”
